AED
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
AEDs SAVE LIVES.
If you are in cardiac arrest, your chance of survival decreases by 10% for every minute without the use of a defibrillator and CPR.
That’s why it’s so important to act immediately.
Currently, the nearest public defibrillator is in Batford Springs, between 700 and 1,500m from LVE residents.

A public AED on the estate will reduce this to a maximum of 500m for all 200 houses and the park. As a central location, Our amazing neighbours at 4 Marshalls Way (Maggie and Richard) have kindly offered to host a public AED on the wall outside their house. This will be a great location serving the LVE should anyone be unfortunate enough to need one.
Fundraising
At present the Department of Health & Social Care are match-funding half the cost of AEDs and the required heated case (£750).
We need to raise the additional £750. As there may be installation and further maintenance costs, we are aiming to raise £1,000 to provide a vital piece of life saving equipment to the estate.
We have set up a fundraising site so you can make donations by credit/debit card using the link below (no fee if you click "don't support Colectiv").
Alternatively you can provide any cash donations in an envelope labelled "AED" to any of the following:
-
Linda Halford (35 Marshalls Way)
-
Maggie Palmer (4 Marshalls Way)
-
Elizabeth Tabor (7 Marshall Heath Lane)
-
Simon Johns (370 Lower Luton Road)
